Indulge in the decadent combination of chocolate, caramel, and pecans with these Turtle Oreo Balls.
Ingredients:
1 package (14.3 oz) Oreo cookies
8 oz cream cheese, softened
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips or melting chocolate
1/2 cup caramel sauce
1 cup chopped pecans
Instructions:
Crush the Oreos: Place the Oreo cookies in a food processor and pulse until finely ground. If you don’t have a food processor, you can place the cookies in a ziplock bag and crush them with a rolling pin.
Mix with Cream Cheese: Transfer the crushed Oreos to a large bowl. Add the softened cream cheese and mix until well combined. The mixture should be sticky and hold together when pressed.
Form the Balls: Scoop out tablespoon-sized amounts of the Oreo mixture and roll them into balls. Place the balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Chill in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to firm up.
Melt the Chocolate: While the Oreo balls are chilling, melt the chocolate chips or melting chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring after each interval until smooth.
Dip the Oreo Balls: Using a fork or a dipping tool, dip each Oreo ball into the melted chocolate, ensuring it’s completely coated. Gently tap off any excess chocolate and place the ball back on the parchment paper.
Add Toppings: Drizzle caramel sauce over the chocolate-coated Oreo balls and sprinkle with chopped pecans before the chocolate sets.
Chill Again: Place the Turtle Oreo Balls in the refrigerator for another 15-20 minutes to set the chocolate and caramel.
Serve and Enjoy: Once set, the Turtle Oreo Balls are ready to be served. Enjoy the rich and creamy texture with the delightful crunch of pecans in every bite.
