I’m Molly Chen, the founder, recipe developer, and passionate food enthusiast behind Mekara Recipes. What began as a simple kitchen journal has blossomed into a vibrant community of home cooks seeking inspiration for creative, accessible meals that don’t sacrifice flavor.

My Culinary Journey

My love affair with cooking started in my grandmother’s kitchen, where I learned that the best recipes combine tradition with innovation. After studying culinary arts and working in professional kitchens for five years, I discovered my true passion was helping everyday cooks bring restaurant-quality meals to their own tables.

Since launching Mekara Recipes in 2018, my approachable cooking techniques and flavor-forward recipes have been featured in Food & Wine, Bon Appétit, The New York Times Cooking section, and numerous cooking podcasts.

When I’m not testing recipes or photographing food, you’ll find me exploring farmers markets, hosting cooking workshops in my community, and continuing my culinary education through travel. My cookbook, “Everyday Alchemy: Transform Simple Ingredients into Extraordinary Meals,” was released in 2023 and became a national bestseller.
