Create a delicious Chocolate Easter Egg Nest Cake that delights your family and makes Easter celebrations unforgettable and joyful

Ingredients

Scale
  • 200 grams dark chocolate (70% cocoa)
  • 100 grams milk chocolate, chopped
  • 100 grams salted butter
  • 150 grams golden syrup or honey
  • 100 grams toasted shredded coconut
  • 150 grams cornflakes or rice cereal
  • 20 to 25 mini chocolate Easter eggs or assorted small candies
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • A pinch of sea salt
  • Instructions

  • Prep your workspace by lining a baking tray with parchment paper so you can shape your nests without sticking.
  • Melt the chocolate and butter: break up both chocolates, combine them with the butter in a heatproof bowl, and gently melt over a pan of simmering water. Stir frequently until completely smooth and glossy. Avoid any water contact to prevent the chocolate from seizing.
  • Stir in golden syrup, vanilla extract, and sea salt into the melted chocolate mixture until combined.
  • Mix in the toasted shredded coconut and cornflakes gently, ensuring every bit is coated with the chocolate mixture.
  • Shape the nests by piling small clusters of the chocolate mixture onto the parchment paper and gently pressing the center to form a shallow bowl shape for the eggs to sit in.
  • Chill and set the nests in the fridge for at least 2 hours or until completely firm.
  • Once set, place the mini chocolate Easter eggs in the center of each nest and serve.
