British Flapjacks offer a quick tasty snack packed with oats and honey to satisfy hunger and boost your energy anytime

  • 200 grams rolled oats
  • 100 grams unsalted butter
  • 100 grams light brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons golden syrup
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a 20cm square baking tin with parchment paper.
  • In a large saucepan, gently melt the butter, brown sugar, and golden syrup over low heat. Stir continuously until melted and combined, then remove from heat.
  • Add the rolled oats and salt to the melted mixture. Stir in vanilla extract if using. Mix thoroughly until all oats are coated.
  • Pour the oat mixture into the prepared tin and press down firmly with the back of a spoon or fingers.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes until edges are golden but centers remain slightly soft.
  • Remove from oven and cool completely in the tin before slicing into squares or rectangles.
