Baked Honey Mustard Chicken Recipe that makes your dinner juicy and flavorful with 5 easy tips to impress every bite

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/3 cup Dijon mustard (smooth, not coarse)
  • 1/4 cup honey (light or wildflower for best flavor)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels for best results.
  • In a bowl, mix together Dijon mustard, honey, olive oil, apple cider vinegar, minced garlic, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper until smooth.
  • Coat each chicken breast thoroughly with the marinade and arrange them in a baking dish or on a lined sheet pan.
  • Marinate the chicken for at least 20 minutes, preferably up to 2 hours, in the refrigerator to enhance flavor. Marinating longer is optional.
  • Bake the chicken for 25-30 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). The honey mustard glaze should slightly caramelize on top.
  • Remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes to seal in the juices before serving.
  • Optional tips: cover the baking dish with foil for juicier chicken or place a rack under the chicken for extra crispiness. Be careful as honey-based sauces can bubble hot and splatter.
